How much advance notice is required to schedule a transport?

To ensure proper accommodations, we request 24–48 hours advance notice. However, we always do our best to accommodate short-notice requests. Call our office for availability.

Can I travel in my own wheelchair?

Yes. Our wheelchair-accessible vans are equipped with modern ramps that accommodate both manual and power wheelchairs. You'll remain in your own chair throughout the transport, secured with a four-point tie-down plus a lap belt (and shoulder harness where applicable) for every ride.

Will the driver take me inside?

Yes — absolutely. Unlike curb-to-curb or door-to-door services, MTS provides door-through-door service. That means we take you from inside your residence to inside your appointment. Your safety and comfort are our priority, start to finish.

If I need a return trip, will the driver stay with me during my appointment?

Because of our busy schedule, drivers typically return once your appointment is complete rather than waiting on-site. Out-of-area transports where we need to wait will incur a Waiting Fee.

When you're ready for your return, call us and we'll dispatch a driver promptly.

Should I call for my return before my appointment is finished?

No. Please contact us only when your appointment is complete, and we'll dispatch a driver for your return promptly. If we arrive and you're not ready, our driver may need to leave — which can result in a longer wait time for you.

Can I bring personal items on my transport?

We accommodate all reasonable requests. Please understand our primary mission is to safely and securely transport you to your appointment — our drivers can't be delayed moving or carrying extra items. For your safety, we also cannot have unsecured items in the vehicle.

Can a family member or attendant come along?

Absolutely. For your comfort, we welcome one family member or staff attendant to accompany you to appointments. Please inform our office of your companion when scheduling.

Do you provide after-hours and weekend transportation?

Yes. With advance notice we provide evening and weekend service. Note that after-hours, weekend, and holiday rates apply — see our rate card or call for pricing.

How will I pay for transportation services?

Private-pay clients pay on the day of transport. Clients with an established account or signed MTS Service Agreement are invoiced per the terms of that Agreement.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, check, and credit card (all major cards). Discounts are available for clients paying at the time of transport.

Will I be charged if I have to cancel?

We understand plans change, and we appreciate advance notice so we can adjust. If a driver has already been dispatched or has arrived at your pickup location and the trip doesn't happen, you'll be charged for a one-way transport, with mileage depending on your location.

How far will you go?

We go wherever you need to go. Our standard coverage area extends up to 100 miles from our Hillsdale base — that covers Coldwater, Adrian, Jackson, Angola (IN), Toledo, Detroit, Ann Arbor, Fort Wayne, Kalamazoo, and more. Longer trips are available with advance notice so we can coordinate the additional insurance arrangement. Call us with your destination and we'll quote it on the spot.
